GSB Success Stories - Handsome Monica

Back in the summer of 2011, young Handsome Monica was invited by GSB to participate in a USA Baseball NTIS program.  He was quickly noticed and travelled to North Carolina in hopes of playing for his country.  His performance on both at the plate and behind it, allowed GSB to provide top of the line reports to Arizona (which had recently signed LHP Evan Hebert also from Louisiana).  Although Handsome had many offers, he

Happy Holidays

As the Holiday Season is upon us, we at GSB want to wish all of you around the world and safe and happy Holiday Season. In 2013, GSB will launch its VERIFIED service, allowing players all over the USA to have scouts come out and evaluate them while they play in live games. We are extremely excited about this, as our goal is helping as many players as possible. Rather than the expensive showcases where only tools are evaluated, GSB has spent almost 15 years educating, evaluating and exposing professional athletes around the world. For the past 5 years, GSB has done the same for players looking for college scholarships. In 2013, we will start identifying and educating the youth market, allowing parents and athletes to be know where they are at, what to expect, and what to work on.

We thank all of our staff and associates for their time and hard work. We wish the recently signed players a healthy and successful season, and for all those players looking for opportunities.....we look forward to serving you!

GSB is Looking for Scouts!

An ever-changing sports landscape requires dynamic organizations willing to innovate and adapt in order to meet the needs of the communities served. Global Scouting Bureau has provided collegiate and professional opportunities for over 2500 players in 23 countries worldwide based on the strength of our network.

We have been very fortunate to connect with many of you using new social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Through these channels, you have notified us of players searching for opportunities, as well as opportunities available for players on various different levels in various different areas. What you may not know is that these are the exact qualities GSB looks for in a scout!

Becoming a scout with GSB allows you to provide opportunities for the players you work with, as well as to help the teams you have relationships with find players. Beyond that, GSB will PAY you for your work! We are always looking for former players, current and former coaches and scouts to come on board to help us to educate, evaluate, and expose athletes!

GSB benefits by bringing in qualified scouts who can identify and assist talented players in continuing their careers. Expanding our reach allows us to better serve the players and teams we work with.

Associate scouts benefit financially, as well as by expanding the number of options and opportunities they can provide for the players they serve, as well as EVERY player in his area.

Players benefit when their coaches, managers, and mentors become scouts by taking advantage of an expanded number of opportunities around the world!

If you think you have the relationships, drive, and willingness to help players that it takes to become a scout, visit us at GSBsports.com and let us help you and your players along the way!

2013 pro contracts to be filled!

Although it may seems months away, many teams Domestically and Internationally are looking for players for the 2013 season. From the Pacific Rim (Japan, Korea & Taiwan)to European Teams (Italy, Holland, Germany, & more).

To fill the growing demand of players, GSB is constantly adding players to its professional database. Players will college experience, those with some minor league (as well as Independent) experience, as well as those with MLB experience desiring to go East and play in Japan, Korea or Taiwan.

In the high level leagues, there is always a demand on quality arms, so if you are a pitcher....you have a shot. Power hitters have a huge demand as well.

European teams are looking for the same, but also request middle infielders as well as any players that are dual citizens or qualify for dual citizenship.

Get verified today for your chance to obtain a contract!

GSB Success Story: Signing Date

As today marks the Official Signing date for NCAA Div I Baseball, we would like to congratulate all those players that have worked so hard. We also recognize the friends and families of these players that have supported the players.

Our network of scouts and staff has allowed us to help thousands of athletes sign college scholarships and professional contracts. With each signing, we understand the feelings and emotions each family and athlete are experiencing. Many times our scouts don't get recognized. Many times GSB is in the background. But for 14 years now, GSB has been committed to helping athletes achieve their goals.

A few of the commitments today include Evan Hebert - University of Arizona, Ryan Leone (pictured) - University of Mississippi, Nolan Bullock - Oakton College, Matt Cole - Alcorn State, Chuckie Robertson - University of Southern Mississippi and Paul Simon - Kentucky State.

We congratulate you all, and expect great things of you in the future!

Youth Baseball

In our efforts to educate, we are looking for you (the people) to let us know what Associations are popular in your area. Is it USSSA, Nations, AAU, other? Is it a competing market? When do tournaments begin? Give us details on the good and bad (but please keep it clean)

GSB Success Story: John Henry Williams

As the son of arguably the greatest hitter of all times (Ted Williams), John Henry didn't start his baseball career until late in life. After a spring training game or 2 in the Northern League, John Henry attended a GSB showcase in 2003. Although he lacked some of the tools desired by scouts to sign a player, he did bring something to the game.

Claudio Reilsono (GM of GSB at the time) called GSB President James Gamble in regard to John Henry. After a few days, Gamble called Claudio back and initiated a conversation with John Henry. It consisted of going over the roller coaster of media likely to take place when he signed, and making sure his commitment to the game was sincere.

Knowing that Independent Baseball is totally reliant on fan base, Gamble got John Henry a contract on a travel team in the Southeastern League. In every city that John Henry traveled to, media and fans increased. Although he didn't hit .400, his work ethic, character and ability to help the game made his stint in the league a success.

John Henry passed away in 2004, but GSB was proud to be a part of helping John Henry Williams obtain one of his dreams.

GSB Success Story: Phil Devey

In 1999, Phil Devey was a 5th Round selection of the Los Angeles Dodgers. After spending 4+ years and reaching AAA, Devey found himself needing a place to play. Although it may seem odd, it is becoming more and more common for players to spend some time in Independent Baseball while other opportunities open up domestically or internationally.

The Global Scouting Bureau quickly found Devey an opportunity with the Pensacola Pelicans where Devey dominated with a 1.46 ERA and was quickly picked up by the Seattle Mariners.

Devey went on to pitch several more seasons with the Mariners, Phillies and Red Sox (as well as for Team Canada).
