Claudio Reilsono

Bio

Claudio Reilsono is an Italian American baseball coach, professional scout, entrepreneur, author, media personality, and motivational speaker whose career spans more than four decades in sports, business, media, and leadership development.

Born and raised with a lifelong passion for baseball, Claudio began his coaching career at age 18 in 1983 as an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater, Quaker Valley High School. From there he built a distinguished coaching résumé that includes head coaching positions at Quaker Valley, Penn State Beaver (where his team won a collegiate championship in 1990), and other college and high school programs before being named Head Baseball Coach at Carnegie Mellon University in 2005. Under his leadership, Carnegie Mellon’s baseball team enjoyed its most successful seasons, including back-to-back conference championships in 2015, 2016 and most recently in 2025, and he remains the all-time leader in coaching wins at the university.

Alongside coaching, Claudio has been General Manager and Professional Baseball Scout for the Global Scouting Bureau since 2001, helping evaluate and place talented players and contributing to professional baseball signings around the world. He has also served as a scout with the Paramount Scouting Bureau and signed dozens of players to professional contracts.

Claudio’s influence extends well beyond the field. He is the founder of Claudio Reilsono Enterprises, which offers baseball instruction, private coaching, camps, consulting, leadership development, and business coaching through Reilsono Coaching & Consulting. His motivational insights focus on leadership, teamwork, building winning cultures, and personal and professional growth — themes he delivers in speaking engagements and coaching programs for teams and organizations.

As an author, Claudio wrote Lead From the Heart Up, Not the Neck Up: How to Create a Positive, Winning Culture on the Field and in the Office, a book blending his sports and life experiences into lessons on leadership and culture.

He is also a prolific media personality:

  • Host and producer of the TV show The Boxing Authorities on the WBC 24/7 ChannelBox network

  • Host of The Claudio Reilsono Show podcast, featuring interviews with sports legends and business leaders

  • Co-host or regular contributor to multiple radio and podcast programs, including Pennsylvania-based sports shows, basketball coaching podcasts, and local sports talk radio

  • A frequent guest on media outlets nationwide discussing sports, business, leadership, and motivation

Claudio has written for a variety of magazines and publications and has served as a boxing color commentator and analyst.

His accomplishments have been recognized with multiple honors, including induction into the Carnegie Mellon University Baseball Hall of Fame, receipt of the Willie Stargell Lifetime Achievement Award, induction into the Steel City Sports Hall of Fame, and being named Italian Coach of the Year by the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame (Pittsburgh Chapter) as well as being inducted in 2026 to the Italian – American Sports Hall of Fame (Pittsburgh Chapter). His life story has appeared in books — including Vince Papale’s You Can Be Invincible — and a documentary about his career is in development.

Off the field, Claudio lives in Sewickley, Pennsylvania with his wife Lynda and their daughter Ida. He remains active in community and celebrity sports events, golf outings, and leadership and motivational work across the United States.
